Soe Lin Oo faces off Muay Thai Star in Myanmar traditional Lethwei fight

Myanmar Lethwei fighter Soe Lin Oo will face off against Muay Thai Star Payak Samui in the main event at a Myanmar vs. Thailand Lethwei challenge at Theinphyu Stadium in Yangon at 2 pm on 8 April.


The Lethwei fight will be under Myanmar traditional Lethwei rules and will be jointly organized by Myanmar Lethwei promotion groups MMTS and H&S Group. The event entitled “50th Media Lethwei Fight” will take place with the endorsement of the Ministry of Health and Sports and Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation.


Soe Lin Oo is regarded as one of toughest Lethwei fighters in Myanmar. He has already been in more than 70 Lethwei fights, he has never been defeated. Ye Thway Ni, a young Lethwei warrior from Taungkalay Lethwei club based in Kayin State will fight against a Thai rival Wan Fit in the 2nd big match. Rising Lethwei fighter Ka Yin Lay will compete with a Thai opponent Bandar Sat.


There will be four other bouts and three fights with up and coming fighters during the event. –By Kyaw Htike Soe
